Assoc. Prof. Bin Guan

Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China

Experience: Bin Guan is the Associate Professor of The Institute of Advanced Energy and Powertrain Technology, School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). He received Ph.D. degree and completed Post-doctoral research in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and also completed Joint post-doctoral research in Southwest Research Institute (SwRI, Engine, Vehicle, and Emissions Division) in San Antonio, Texas, US. His research interests include Emission control of combustion pollutants, Non-thermal plasma technology, Synthesis of High Efficiency Nanocomposite Functional Materials, Advanced Energy Materials Design, Regulation, Applications, and Nanocatalysis, Energy Catalysis and Environmental Catalysis, and First Principles Density Functional Theory (DFT) Quantum Mechanics and Molecular Dynamics Simulations. He preside and participate in more than 40 scientific research projects. He has published more than 40 high level SCI papers that have been sited more than 1400 times, and two of which are ESI high cited papers and hot papers. He has eight national invention patents authorization. He won the second prize of Shanghai Technology Invention in 2017. He is the Member and Deputy Secretary-General of Aftertreatment Technology Branch of Chinese Society of Internal Combustion Engines and Member of China Environmental Protection Industry Association. He is the Evaluation Expert of Shanghai Science and Technology Award, and the Review Expert of National Natural Science Foundation Communication. He is the Editorial Board Member of SCI journal Energies. He also serve as a reviewer for several international academic journals, such as Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, Environmental Science & Technology, Applied Catalysis B: Environmental, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Physical Chemistry C, Aerosol and Air Quality Research, Applied Energy, Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, Chemical Engineering Science, Journal of Environmental Management, Applied Thermal Engineering, Fuel, Energy, Energy & Fuels, et al.

Assoc. Prof. Guomin Luo

Beijing Jiaotong University, China

Experience: Luo Guomin is an associate professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Electrical Engineering, Beijing Jiaotong University. She has been engaged in the research of power system transient signal analysis and processing for a long time. The research fields include power system online monitoring, transient signal detection and analysis, signal processing, denoising, time-frequency analysis, line protection, fault location, and artificial intelligence technology in power system applications, etc. She is the Excellent reviewer of "Chinese Journal of Electrical Engineering" and "Power Grid Technology", member of the Artificial Intelligence Special Committee of the Electrical Engineering Society, reviewer of IEEE Sensors, IEEE Access, IET S M&T and other journals in the past five years. Presided over and participated in the National Natural Science Foundation of China Youth Fund. She has more than 10 projects such as 863 Program, National Key R&D Program, etc., and has published more than 30 papers in international and domestic journals and conferences.

Assoc. Prof. Ming Xie

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Experience: Xie Ming is holding the positions of Associate Professor at Nanyang Technological University. He has served as technical consultants to Asia Electronics Pte Ltd in 1994, Port of Singapore Authority in 1994, Delphi Automotive Systems Pte Ltd in 2001, ST Aerospace Ltd in 2006, Murata Electronics Pte Ltd in 2007, and Sony Electronics Pte Ltd in 2007. He has also worked with Renault Automation (Paris/France) in 1986, INRIA Sophia-Antipolis (Nice/France) between 1990 and 1993, and Singapore-MIT Alliance between 2000 and 2004. In addition, Xie Ming has served as the General Chair of International Conference on Climbing and Walking Robots in 2007, and International Conference on Intelligent Robotics and Applications in 2009. Xie Ming obtained his B.Eng in control and automation in 1984. In the same year, he was selected as one of the Chinese government’s overseas scholars. Thereafter, he obtained a Master's degree in industrial automation from the University of Valenciennes (France) in 1986, and a Ph.D. degree in informatics from the University of Rennes (France) in 1989. He has published one best-selling book in robotics in 2003, and over 100 research papers so far. Xie Ming has taught a number of university courses such as Applied Machine Vision, Robotics, Computer Graphics, Statistical Process Control, and Physics. Xie Ming’s research strengths are in machine intelligence, humanoid robotics, and autonomous vehicles. In total, he has won two scientific competition awards and two best conference paper awards.

 Prof. Valentina E. Balas

Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, Romania

Experience: Valentina E. Balas is currently Full Professor in the Department of Automatics and Applied Software at the Faculty of Engineering, “Aurel Vlaicu” University of Arad, Romania.

She holds a Ph.D. Cum Laude, in Applied Electronics and Telecommunications from Polytechnic University of Timisoara. Dr. Balas is author of more than 350 research papers in refereed journals and International Conferences. Her research interests are in Intelligent Systems, Fuzzy Control, Soft Computing, Smart Sensors, Information Fusion, Modeling and Simulation.She is the Editor-in Chief to International Journal of Advanced Intelligence Paradigms (IJAIP) and to  International  Journal of Computational Systems Engineering (IJCSysE), member in Editorial Board member of several national and international journals and is evaluator expert for national, international projects and PhD Thesis.Dr. Balas is the director of Intelligent Systems Research Centre in Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad and Director of the Department of International Relations, Programs and Projects in the same university.She served as General Chair of the International Workshop Soft Computing and Applications (SOFA) in nine editions organized in the interval 2005-2020 and held in Romania and Hungary.Dr. Balas participated in many international conferences as Organizer, Honorary Chair, Session Chair, member in Steering, Advisory or International Program Committees and Keynote Speaker.Now she is working in a national project with EU funding support: BioCell-NanoART = Novel Bio-inspired Cellular Nano-Architectures - For Digital Integrated Circuits, 3M Euro from National Authority for Scientific Research and Innovation.She is a member of European Society for Fuzzy Logic and Technology (EUSFLAT), member of Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) and a Senior Member IEEE, member in Technical Committee – Fuzzy Systems (IEEE Computational Intelligence Society), chair of the Task Force 14 in Technical Committee – Emergent Technologies (IEEE CIS), member in Technical Committee – Soft Computing (IEEE SMCS).Dr. Balas was past Vice-president (responsible with Awards) of IFSA - International Fuzzy Systems Association Council (2013-2015), is a Joint Secretary of the Governing Council of Forum for Interdisciplinary Mathematics (FIM), - A Multidisciplinary Academic Body, India and recipient of the "Tudor Tanasescu" Prize from the Romanian Academy for contributions in the field of soft computing methods (2019).
